So far, my experience as an online learner within the Seed Technology and Business program has been a great one. The classes have been relevant to the work I do every day, and I am learning a great deal about the seed industry from teachers who have seed industry experience.
Q. Why did you choose to pursue ISU’s Masters in Seed Technology and Business?
I chose to pursue a Masters in Seed Technology and Business because I have always had a passion for agriculture, and I currently work in the seed industry for DuPont Pioneer. I wanted to increase my knowledge and understanding of the industry, and this program has enabled me to do just that with classes that I can take when my schedule permits.
Q. What advice do you have for future online students thinking about applying to the program?
If you’re involved with the seed industry in any way and you want to increase your knowledge and understanding of the business in a flexible and engaging environment then I would highly recommend the Seed Technology and Business program through Iowa State.
Q. What have you enjoyed most about the faculty you work with within this program?
The aspect that I have enjoyed most about the faculty I work with within this program is that most of them have experience working in the seed industry. They have provided me with up-to-date and relevant information which I can apply directly to my current position.
Q. Why was online learning the right choice for you?
Online learning was the right choice for me because it allowed me the flexibility to learn when it was convenient for me. Having a full time job and other commitments sometimes makes it tough to find time, but this program has enabled me to increase my education while at the same time managing my career and other commitments.
Q. What are your future plans after finishing your master’s degree?
After finishing my master’s degree, I would like to continue working in the seed industry. The seed industry is a great business to be a part of as there are numerous opportunities in this continuously growing field. Possessing a master’s degree in Seed Technology and Business from Iowa State University will help prepare me for a successful career.
