Seed Science and Technology Short Course Series to be Held November 9-11, 2022

The Online Graduate Program in Seed Technology and Business (STB) at Iowa State University is excited to bring back its Seed Science and Technology on-campus short course series in November, 2022.

“We initially moved all our short courses online as a webinar series in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Lori Youngberg, Program Coordinator for the STB program. “Now that restrictions are lifting and travel is more accessible, we are excited about bringing seed industry professionals back to campus and central Iowa for seed science education with industry tours.”

This short course series is available for any seed industry professionals looking to learn more about new technologies and processes as they relate to the science of seed.

Short course attendees will participate in focused morning presentations and discussions, attend an in-person lunch keynote, and finish the day with industry tours. Daily topics will focus on seed treatment, seed production, precision agriculture, and CRISPR.

“In an effort to include our international audiences and maintain our online presence, this year we’re offering a hybrid keynote speaker during lunch,” says Youngberg. “These keynote presentations will be offered, for free, as a webinar event. For a more comprehensive look at chosen topics we encourage people to come to campus.”

SAVE THE DATES for the in-person short course, held November 9-11 in Ames, Iowa. Registration will open soon. Space is limited.

More details and registration will be announced soon and will be posted at www.seedgrad.iastate.edu.
